Thank UN Peacekeepers

Join us in thanking the more than 113,000 brave men and women from 116 countries who serve as United Nations peacekeepers in 15 missions around the world.

UN peacekeepers risk their lives every day to rebuild societies wracked by violence and natural disasters, restore confidence in people who have known little but war, and adapt to new challenges in some of the most difficult places in the world.

Add your name – and a note if you'd like – to the thank you card below, and we'll deliver it to UN peacekeepers worldwide.

Thank you very much. Most people, including myself can not imagine, what you sacrifice, trying to keep peace or make peace between nations. And even when it does not work, please do NOT give up! It is always worth fighting for peace. THANK YOU!

Thank you, not only for looking past your national ties and the cultural divisions between you and those you help, but for laying down your life in the name of peace and compassion. You are truly a hero.

Thank you Peacekeepers. I don’t know you and might not ever have the opportunity to meet any of you in person, but whether you are in South Sudan, Haiti, the Congo or any other area, I wish to express gratitude for being willing to put yourselves at risk in order to ensure that our brothers and sisters across the globe can live in a safe world. My advice to you is to learn to love the people you are protecting, even if it seems pointless sometimes. For many people that have seen so much violence in their lives, all it could take for them to know that there is good in the world, is a smile or a “Good morning”. Thanks again. God bless.
