International Day of Happiness

The International Day of Happiness is an official UN day that “recognizes the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal and the need for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes sustainable development, poverty eradication, happiness and the well-being of all peoples.”

  1. Bring “happiness cards” to a chapter meeting or Exec meeting to have members write a message on the blank side of the card. This message can include chapter-specific information like a chapter email or social media page, and/or it can include a positive message handwritten by a chapter member to spread happiness. If you run out of cards, print your own using the digital template.
  2. Distribute the cards around campus (the library, student union, classes, residence halls, etc.) on March 20th – the International Day of Happiness
  3. Take a photo of your cards/messages around campus or with people holding the cards; post to social media using the hashtag #GenUN to earn points for the March Membership Madness competition

Optional: Tape a piece of candy to the cards to add some extra happiness.
