The International Day of Happiness is an official UN day that “recognizes the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal and the need for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes sustainable development, poverty eradication, happiness and the well-being of all peoples.”
- Bring “happiness cards” to a chapter meeting or Exec meeting to have members write a message on the blank side of the card. This message can include chapter-specific information like a chapter email or social media page, and/or it can include a positive message handwritten by a chapter member to spread happiness. If you run out of cards, print your own using the digital template.
- Distribute the cards around campus (the library, student union, classes, residence halls, etc.) on March 20th – the International Day of Happiness
- Take a photo of your cards/messages around campus or with people holding the cards; post to social media using the hashtag #GenUN to earn points for the March Membership Madness competition
Optional: Tape a piece of candy to the cards to add some extra happiness.
