WFUNA's 6th Human Rights Youth Program
25-29 July 2016, United Nations, Geneva, Switzerland
Since the launch of the International Year of Youth in 2010, the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), has drastically increased efforts to strengthen its youth network and build the capacity of young leaders to develop and implement projects related to human rights around the world.
Now in its sixth year, the "So, You Want To Be The Next High Commissioner?" human rights workshop includes intensive tutoring, discussions with key human rights actors, and training on how to implement a human rights project locally. The training is open to 20 - 26 UNA youth members, between 18 - 25 years old, who have a good knowledge of international institutions, are highly committed to human rights, and are driven, creative, and well-organized. Most importantly, the program allows youth participants to transform theory into practice by implementing a project of their own using the skills and knowledge they have acquired. Among the various human rights themes addressed as well as through the projects implemented by the participants, WFUNA particularly focuses on the most pressing issues of the global Human Rights agenda.
UNA-USA scholarships are available to cover up to $2000 in travel and/or program fees to WFUNA's 6th Human Rights Youth Program. Apply here by Tuesday, June 7th at 11:59 pm to be considered.
