UNA-USA's sister campaign, Shot@Life, educates, connects and empowers Americans to champion vaccines as one of the most cost-effective ways to save the lives of children in developing countries. From October 3-December 2, 3014, Shot@Life supporters at campuses across the country are participating in a competition to support global vaccine programs by raising funds and their voices. Your UNA Campus Chapter can help give children a healthy shot at life!
WHO: UNA Campus Chapters Nationwide
WHAT:60 Vaccines in 60 Days
WHERE: Your Local Campus
WHEN: Now through December 2nd, 2014
WHY: Two of the most common causes of child death–pneumonia and diarrhea–can be largely prevented by existing vaccines. The number of children dying every year from preventable diseases in developing countries is nearly equivalent to half the children entering kindergarten in the U.S. Expanding access to vaccines can prevent an additional 1.5 million deaths each year.
HOW: Shot@Life is challenging campuses to raise funds for at least 60 pneumonia vaccines, a total of $300, in the 60 days leading up to December 2. On October 24, be sure to advocate for polio eradication on World Polio Day!
The campus to raise the most funds by the end of Dec. 2 will receive a $300 grant, Shot@Life t-shirts and Shot@Life staff support for a Spring Shot@Life activation!
To participate, register for our 60 Vaccines in 60 Days Campus Challenge Webinar on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 7p ET. During this webinar, we will share more details about the competition and share resources with you to aid your participation. By joining our movement, you can help save a child’s life every 20 seconds.
